Introduction to Improvising Harmony
With Yula Andrews
Sunday 29th June
11:30am - 1:30pm
The Core Theatre Studio
FREE!
Improvisation is often a key part of a musician’s training but rarely is this the case for vocalists – especially those who make music as a hobby. Instrumentalists get together and ‘jam’, but singers can often find this daunting (to say the least) and often, it’s totally intimidating. Not everyone thinks of the voice as an instrument, but it is… It’s the most beautiful, agile, sensitive and versatile instrument, and we all have it. This relaxed, informal workshop will enable you to play with improvising in a safe space, thinking about what works and why, and will build your confidence in generating improvised harmonies.
