During this workshop you’ll not only be learning the chorus parts of a famous operatic aria, we will be exploring dramatisation and movement.
Get ready to explore stage craft and learn how it feels to be a working chorus in an opera company!
About Samantha Oxborough

Samantha Oxborough is a British mezzo-soprano known for her versatile performances across various musical genres. She graduated from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Studies, achieving First Class Honours, and completed a postgraduate certificate. In the 2019/2020 season, she was a Young Artist at the National Opera Studio.

Samantha has portrayed roles such as Cherubino in “The Marriage of Figaro,” Maurya in “Riders to the Sea,” and Patricia in the world premiere of Michael Wolters’ “Ava’s Wedding.” She has also participated in opera scenes as Carmen, Octavian, Quickly, Lucretia, and Suzuki.

Beyond opera, Samantha has performed at various events, including singing the National Anthem at the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham in 2022. She regularly performs recitals and concerts at the Cedar Church in Birmingham and collaborates with Birmingham Opera on community projects.​
